Private First Class Shane Austin, US Army proudly served with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment. While conducting a combat patrol with his platoon in Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles on 8 October 2006 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, and insurgent threw a hand grenade into PFC Austin's tank and unhesitatingly grabbed the grenade saving the lives of those soldiers in his vehicle. PFC Austin's mother, Debbie Austin - a Kansas native describes her son's life.
